The service

Learni provides AI-powered tutoring for New Zealand children in Year 1–13. The platform covers the New Zealand curriculum and allows children to earn virtual stars for completed lessons, quizzes, and homework tasks.

Free trial

New accounts receive a 7-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial period, continued access requires an active subscription.

Subscription pricing

• First child: NZD $49 per month
• Each additional child: NZD $19 per month

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST where applicable. Subscriptions are billed monthly and may be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Account holder responsibilities

The account holder must be a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. By creating an account you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of any child added to the account.

You are responsible for your child’s use of Learni, including ensuring that use is appropriate and consistent with these terms. You must not share account credentials with anyone outside your immediate household.

Stars — virtual currency

Stars are Learni’s in-app virtual currency, earned by children for completing learning activities. Stars have no monetary value until a parent explicitly approves a payout in the parent dashboard.

Learni acts as a ledger only. The parent decides if, when, and how much real money to award based on their child’s star balance. Learni does not transfer real money to children directly.

Stars are forfeited if an account is closed and do not carry any cash value upon account termination.

Acceptable use

• Learni is intended for NZ curriculum learning activities only.
• Do not attempt to misuse the AI tutor to generate harmful, inappropriate, or off-curriculum content.
• Do not share account credentials or allow use by people outside your household.
• Do not attempt to circumvent safety or content moderation systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Termination and data deletion

You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting support. Upon closure, your account data — including all child profiles, session history, and stars balances — will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Limitation of liability

Learni is provided as an educational aid. We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes. To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, our liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the subscription fees paid in the three months preceding the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
